If the card is overloaded bright scenes assume an overexposed, metallic look. To be blunt, I thought this looked bloody awful and so applied a grayscale filter to all the footage.

I've also added some captions which are switched on by default but can be switched off in the menu. I thought people may find these useful since there is no narration in the programme.

The original soundtracks sound a bit lo-fi and fluttery to me, so this is how I prefer it. But the original soundtrack is there if you want it. Here we offer the original uncropped 16mm version from a very high quality German print. The extra picture at the top and bottom gives the film a different feel - more like a documentary and less like a theatrical feature.

This version is totally different to the grainy, heavily cropped print released on vhs and laserdisc in , and includes the same remastered stereo soundtrack as the widescreen version. An additional feature has been added in the form of optional captions which provide the exact date for each scene.

Unusually, the BEEB screened the widescreen 35mm theatrical print with black bars at top and bottom. When released on VHS and laserdisc, this widescreen version was cropped severely to produce the full-frame image. Taken from a VHS source. Color tends to be slightly unstable in the picture. We watched this and the pic was cut on the sides missing some of the opening titles. The source is VHS and while quite good does not deserve a "superb" rating.

In short I hope to present the best looking and sounding set of promo videos to date, but that qualitative decision is up to you all to decide. This was produced, manipulated on, and intended to be viewed on modern flat-panel monitors.

I can't say how this will look on an old tube TV. When this project was started, it began by dividing all the raw clips and bits into quality categories before assembling the videos:.
